| Concert in Coalition |
Sandhurst band proved that they are excellent coalition partners, as they presented the 10th annual concert in aid of both Sandhurst Conservatives and the band's own funds on Saturday 12th May, at Sandhurst Community Hall. The traditional curtain raiser to the band's concert season included something for all and a wide variety of music, old and new. The concert opened with a new arrangement of the 'Norwegian Arts Carnival', from the pen of our MD, Ian McElligott, and was followed up with a performance of Mario Lanza's 'Be My Love', in the classic arrangement for solo euphonium, delivered by the band's principal euphonium, Matt Spriggs. Proving the band certainly isn't 'eurosceptic' we then presented an Irish contribution of the popular number, 'Riverdance' which was made famous as an intermission performance at a previous Eurovision Song Contest. The first part of the concert concluded with the perennially popular 'Redetsky March'. |
